Let me help you…
launch your app!
My app career started shortly after the first iPhone hit the market. Although the industry and tools to create apps has changed at an insane pace, there’s a lot that remains the same.
There’s still plenty of room on the App Store for your idea and you don’t have to be a programmer, have lots of money or a big following to be successful. You need a simple process and a passion to commit to your idea.
That’s what I’m want to help you with today!
App success isn’t rocket science &
doesn’t require tons of cash.
- You don’t need VC funding or a big budget
- You don’t need to be a programmer
- Apps aren’t a passing fad
- 97% of apps are from the same demographics (hello opportunity!)
- Most apps fail because of 3 simple mistakes
- There is PLENTY of opportunity for new apps
- Apps are lucrative revenue (and I’m not just talking about downloads)
Listening to my Instincts
I released my first app, Gratitude, in 2008. It was one of the FIRST apps to exists and is STILL going strong.
But when I got the idea for my app, I thought…
- I have no coding skills
- No idea how to design an app
- Hardly any money to pay for it
- Zero marketing skills
What the hell was I thinking?!?! I don’t have a clue how to create an app…and who is going to download it??
I was CRIPPLED by the fear of where to begin. I didn’t even have an iPhone! All my friends thought I was nuts.
But I figured it out. And guess what? There’s actually a formula to successful apps that I’ve been able to repeat again and again.
Making apps is not rocket science.
I discovered that app success is connecting with your tribe and nailing the design.
Gratitude wasn’t nearly as thrilling as some of the bigger apps being released, but there’s one thing it had that many other apps didn’t.
It had a unique backstory. See, launching an app wasn’t about the money. It was about creating something that would change lives.
After my gratitude practice saved me from drowning in daily self-sabotage (drinking, insomnia, depression…), I wanted at least one person to discover this simple mind trick and change their life too.
- I shared my personal story so others could relate
- The media picked up on it
- My tribe connected with me
- And things really took off
Before I knew it, I was live on BBC, NPR, in USAToday, Elle, NYTimes and countless other places.
All that from one idea…
My 5 Step Process
Over the years, I witnessed first hand the app industry and the tools to create them evolve like CRAZY but…yet my process remains the same.
Wanting to help more people join the app market, I published Idea to iPhone, as well as coached countless businesses, indies and students on their first apps.
Over the past 10 years, my 5-step process focuses on short wins to keep your app project going, creating apps your tribe wants, and long-term success on a shoe-string budget.
