This morning I woke up to this email from a complete stranger….
Hi Carla I just wanted to say a big thank you for writing “Idea to iPhone.” A year ago I took the first steps into the complex world of apps and app development and quickly became completely overwhelmed and lost. Then I discovered your book “Idea to iPhone” and followed your step-by-step guide religiously!
Within six months I had my creativity app “brainsparker” live on iTunes around the world, and just last week it was reviewed by the New York Times and Boston Globe. Your experience and valuable advice really helped me to avoid making costly mistakes, and it showed me how to invest my time (and money!) wisely. Now when anyone asks me about developing an app, I immediately refer them to “Idea to iPhone” as the first step on their app journey. So thank you once again!
Needless to say I was giddy beyond words reading this at 7am. Naturally it feels great that my work has helped another person succeed. But mostly, I love it when strangers reach out to each other and say thank you. It’s such a powerful thing to do.
Can you think of at least one person who would appreciate a thank you email / card / call / visit from you? I’m positive you have someone in mind right now. How about you make it a point to write to someone new every day for a week. You’ll feel like a million bucks afterwards.
